(CHICAGO)  Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s last city budget, with no new taxes, has been almost-unanimously approved.

48 to 1 was the roll call on Rahm’s $10.7 billion spending plan for next year.

Only Ald Scott Waguespack, the leader of the progressives voted no.

Over the years Rahm Emanuel budgets have put a heavy burden on Chicago taxpayers but he defended that after this vote, “Over the last 8 years collectively, we have mustered the political courage to bring Chicago back from the brink it was on in 2011.”

Up next on December 12th, the mayor will make new and expensive pension funding recommendations.
