‘Dibs’: Which candidates are for and against it?

Bu Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News
(CHICAGO) It’s the last day for candidates for mayor to file their nominating petitions and after four of them did, Bill Cameron took their temperatures on dibs, the well-honored practice of reserving a parking place on the street with a piece of furniture after you clear the snow and ice from it.
On the day of a blizzard of all things, former police supt Garry McCarthy came out against dibs: “I think that’s a bad idea. It just causing conflict. Anything that causes conflict I think is a bad idea.”
Dorothy Brown, the Circuit Court Clerk, didn’t know what dibs is: “Dibs? I’m not familiar with that.”
On dibs, Gerry Chico ducked: “You mean the chair? I’m not answering that question!” But Chico admitted he used to do it.
And here’s where Bill Daley is on dibs: “I’m nowhere on dibs! Where are you on dibs?
If I were a candidate for mayor, I’d certainly be pro-dibs.
