(CHICAGO)   “Certified Pre-owned” vs. used.  What does it mean?

JC Phelan of Jack Phelan Chevrolet and Jack Phelan Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram tells Saturday’s DriveChicago program that there are many new car dealers in the Chicago area and, “There’s not a standard protocol for how they inspect their used vehicles.  When you go into the factory certified vehicles there’s an actual checklist.  That checklist can range, depending on the manufacturer, from a 125-point inspection and that mechanic that is inspecting that vehicle has to be certified, trained and meet all the protocols that manufacturer sets in place.”

The car featured in our review this week is the Fiat 124 Spyder which Drive Chicago GM Mark Bilek says is a fun ride but, “I think there’s another caveat here that we’re all overlooking.  You guys are a little more petite than I (laughs).  I’m not a giant guy but I’m 6’2 and I barely fit.  I have to fold myself into this car.”]

We also talk about our favorite car movies. DriveChicago airs every Saturday at 8 a.m.
