McCarthy calls for criminal prosecution for the Laquan MacDonald video cover-up

(CHICAGO)  In the race for mayor, Garry McCarthy says there ought to be a criminal prosecution for the cover-up of the infamous Laquan McDonald video.

McCarthy got fired by Mayor Emanuel in the Laquan McDonald firestorm but at the City Club he was saying something else is long overdue.

“Probably the reason I’m not superintendent today is because I’m not a go along to get along type person. Let’s be clear about that. Second of all, we’re going to engage in something called truth-telling. How’s that for a concept in Chicago? We’re going to tell the truth about what happened. There should be a criminal prosecution for the cover-up of the Laquan McDonald video and it should go all the way to the fifth floor.”

And on the 5th floor of course is Mayor Emanuel’s office.
