(CHICAGO)   In the saga of the raided alderman Ed Burke,  there’s a proposal in the city council to take away his biggest program.

Progressive aldermen want to move Burke’s $100M a year workers comp operation to the mayor’s office.

Mayor Emanuel is artfully reacting, saying “I don’t really care where workers comp sits. If you looked at my budget, you would see we realized $20M of savings. What I’m interested in is are we continuing to make every area part of reform to better meet the goals of our city.”

On December 2nd, on WLS’ Connected to Chicago show, Toni Preckwinkle said she’d move workers comp out of Burke’s Finance Committee if she’s elected mayor.
