Homeless Man Involved In GoFundMe Scandal Arrested

Another twist in the saga of a $400,000 GoFundMe scam cooked up by a New Jersey couple and a homeless Philadelphia man.

Johnny Bobbit Jr., the homeless man, was arrested Wednesday after failing to show up for court for his pending fraud case.

The story went viral last year after couple Kate McClure and Mark D’Amico started a GoFundMe for Bobbit, who allegedly gave McClure his last $20 when she ran out of gas. Bobbit would later sue the couple for his share of the money, at which point it was revealed that the whole story was a sham and the money had all been spent.

All three people have since been charged. GoFundMe announced it was refunding all donations.
