Brick-and-mortar retail continues to struggle as Macy’s and J.C. Penney have both announced more store closures in the new year.

J.C. Penney is closing three stores and says more closures are possible after a disappointing holiday shopping season.

Macy’s is also closing stores in three different states, including its last remaining store in Wyoming.

The announcements come the same week that Sears reached an 11th-hour deal to stay in business despite bankruptcy proceedings.
