Service set for trooper killed on 294

(SOUTH BARRINGTON, Ill.) — Funeral services have been set for Illinois State Police trooper Chris Lambert. Lambert was headed home on I-294 near Willow Road when he pulled over to assist with a traffic accident. Outside of his squad he was struck by a car.

The accident happened near the scene of an accident six years ago that took the life of Trooper James Sauter.

Visitation will be Thursday at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Friday, also at the church.

Lambert, 34, was and Army veteran and is survived by his parents, wife and 1-year-old daughter.
