White House Unsure if Compromise Spending Bill Will Be Signed

Reports have gone back-and-forth today on whether a bipartisan compromise bill to avert another partial government shutdown will be signed by the White House.

Fox News earlier reported that after speaking with Sen. Shelby, the top Republican on the Senate Appropriation Committee, on Tuesday, it appeared that the White House was inching toward approving the deal.

However, subsequent reports today indicate that a decision has yet to be made.

The deal as, it stood Wednesday afternoon, would allocate enough funds for 55 miles of new border barrier, or about 1/3rd the more than $5B the White House had been asking for.
