(CHICAGO)  Hispanic politicians meeting here in Chicago are dumping on Trump’s national emergency.

At the U.S. Hispanic Leadership Institute meeting, former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros called Trump’s stated goal “a fake wall.”

“There’s only one possible explanation and that is that the politics works for him. If you can create division, if you can work with hate, if you can create a sense of alienation and it works to your advantage, then it is a very cynical political strategy. It is not leadership.”

And former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson called for jobs not walls.
