Amazon’s 2018 Tax Bill: Zero

With its 2018 profits exceeding $11 billion, most people would be shocked by the amount of tax Amazon is paying this year. But not for the reason you might think.

The online retailer is expected to pony up exactly $0, according to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy. It’s the second year in a row that Amazon will pay nothing to Uncle Sam.

A major contributor to the trillion dollar company’s almost non-existent tax rate is a $129 million federal income rebate it claimed, bringing its tax rate down to just 1 percent, the Institute reports.
