Layane Dias, 20, wanted to get her nose pierced, but what she ended up receiving was unfortunately a lot more.

Dias ended up getting a bacterial infection from the piercing called Staphylococcus aureus that resulted in her becoming paralyzed.

The girl’s nose became swollen following the piercing and she chose to ignore the symptoms, until the pain started in her legs.

It turns out the bacteria entered her bloodstream as a result of the piercing.

Eventually she had a buildup of liquid that pushed against her spinal cord, resulting in paralyzation.
