In fact, only three countries remain on the old British imperial system: the United States, Myanmar, and Liberia.

Even the Brits partially switched in 1965, having run into issues with the rest of Europe who had already adopted the French invented measurements.

In the 1970s, the US had tried making the jump to metric but the congressionally passed Metric Conversion Act failed after implementation became voluntary.
