NJ Ballot Bill Would Require President, VP, Candidate Tax Return Release

New Jersey lawmakers might actually succeed this time in requiring presidential and vice presidential candidates to release their tax returns in order to appear on their state’s ballot.

Then Governor Chris Christie vetoed a prior attempt. However, this time around, New Jersey has a Democratic Governor – Phil Murphy.

A measure that would prevent president and vice president candidates from appearing on the state’s ballot unless they release five years of federal tax returns has already passed New Jersey’s democrat-controlled senate. If the bill also clears the democratic-led assembly it would then head to Gov. Murphy’s desk for signature.
