Mahboob Lodhi was just finishing up his shift driving for Uber when when a plank penetrated his windshield from an elevated subway.

“Boom. I’m just shocked,” said Lodhi. “I’m nervous and then after a couple minutes, nothing.”

Lodhi was literally just feet away from death. The driver did have the plank graze his arm and was also showered in broken glass.

“A track from the 7 train just crashed down upon a driving car around 65th Street in Woodside, piercing through the windshield,” said Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority is looking into the incident and says, “We take this incident extremely seriously, are conducting a full investigation into what happened, have personnel ensuring the rest of the area is safe, and are relieved that no one was injured.”
