(CHICAGO)  In the Democrats campaign to enact a progressive income tax, Governor J.B. Pritzker is promoting a new tool.

Pritzker’s promoting his progressive income tax idea with what he calls a Fair Tax Calculator.

“This calculator will allow every taxpayer in Illinois to calculate exactly what the Fair Tax will mean to them and for their families. All you need to do is go to illinois.gov/fairtaxcalculator. You plug in your income, the number of children if you’re a parent and your property tax bill if you own a home.”

But Republicans say anyway you calculate it, this tax will drive more businesses out of the state.
