Cesar Sayoc, the suspect who mailed pipe bombs to the media and members of Congress, will officially plead guilty to charges in New York City on Thursday.

The 56-year-old Florida resident was arrested in October and indicted on 30 counts of using weapons of mass destruction and transporting explosives in November.

Sayoc sent 16 devices through the US Post Office in the lead up to the midterm election, none of which exploded or caused injury.

Depending on what happens at the hearing, a trial scheduled for July may not take place. If convicted, Sayoc faces life in prison.
