Man Accused Of Scamming Bernie, Beto Supporters Out Of Donations

A California man is accused of ripping off Democratic voters by collecting fraudulent campaign donations.

Prosecutors say 80-year-old John Pierre Dupont set up fake political action committees, or PACs, for prominent Democrats Bernie Sanders, Beto O’Rourke, and Andrew Gillum. He allegedly pocketed over $250,000 meant to go towards their respective campaigns.

Dupont facing charges of wire fraud and identity theft and was released after posting $100,000 bail.
