Confident Lightfoot talks about the kind of people she’d hire for top jobs

In the race for mayor, Bill Cameron says front-runner Lori Lightfoot is confident enough now to start talking about the kind of people she’d hire for top jobs in a Lightfoot administration.

With a new media poll having her up 53-17 over Toni Preckwinkle, Lightfoot told the Crain’s Editorial Board reform-minded people are already in touch saying “Call on me, call on me!”
“We have a tremendous amount of talent here in the city that I think is untapped whether it’s in business, the philanthropic world. I’m very mindful that we’ve got a lot of really smart people who I think would be drawn to the possibility of being drawn to an administration that is focused on change, that’s not gonna do the same-old same-old and is going to break-out of oh, we can’t do that because it’s not the politically-expedient thing to do.”

Lightfoot says these people want to get in on the threshold of change.
