In the race for mayor, Bill Cameron says Lori Lightfoot is out with her plan to rein-in fines, fees and tickets.

Lightfoot is promising to almost ban the boot on cars with too many unpaid parking tickets … stop denying city jobs to most scofflaws … sunset most red light cameras unless safety is the issue … and stop the suspensions of drivers licenses for non-moving violations.

“I want to make sure we’re being fair to low income and working class individuals and families. We can’t balance the budget on their backs.” And Lightfoot says she’s willing for the city to take a hit on revenue in the short-run to end racial disparities in the long run. ​
