Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro is being criticized for comments he made about the Holocaust during a meeting with evangelical pastors in Rio. After Bolsonaro told the pastors that “we can forgive but we can not forget” the Holocaust, Isreal’s government condemned his words.

Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin took to Twitter to say “We will never forgive and we can never forget.” Officials at the Yad Vashem memorial in Jerusalem released a statement disagreeing with Bolsonaro.
