PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Summer is nearing and you might see fireflies – be advised – they are NOT alien lasers!

WNEP reports a Clinton County, Pennsylvania man, who authorities say was shooting at lightning bugs, will be dreaming of summertime from his prison cell.

Jesse Shields and Katherine McCloskey, allegedly being chased by the ‘alien lasers’ last June, ran to a nearby home where the homeowner confiscated the gun and called 911.

Shields was sentenced Monday to three to six years behind bars. McCloskey received up to six months in jail. Authorities say Shields was high on bath salts.
