Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been caught up in one of the many financial scandals plaguing former Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti.

Among the many financial crimes Avenatti is accused of is embezzling more than $2 million from a settlement between Whiteside and his former girlfriend Alexis Gardner.

According to court documents, Avenatti took $2.5 million from the $2.75 million settlement and spent it on a private jet, only paying Gardner about $200,000.

Avenatti is facing up to 382 years behind bars on 36 counts in federal indictment handed down earlier this month.
