Navajo Code Talker Who Fought in WWII Dies at 97

One of the last remaining Navajo Code Talkers from World War II has passed away at the age of 97.

His name was Fleming Begaye Sr. and he was born in Red Valley, Arizona, in 1921, according to the Navajo Nation.

Just what did Code Talkers do? They helped the U.S. communicate securely during battles using a code based on the Navajo language.
