A painting by French impressionist Claude Monet was just auctioned off for a record-breaking $110.7 million.

‘Haystacks’, widely considered to be one of Monet’s masterpieces, was auctioned by Sotheby’s New York, with the bidding lasting just eight minutes.

The $110.7 million price tag makes it the most expensive Impressionist painting ever sold at auction, and among the top 10 most expensive paintings period.
