First woman to command infantry division

Her name is Brig. Gen. Laura Yeager, she already has quite the resume.

Yeager was commissioned in 1986 as a second lieutenant, flew UH-60 Black Hawks before moving from active duty to the reserves. She deployed to Iraq as deputy commander of the Cal Guard’s 40th Combat Aviation Brigade, and has served as a battalion and brigade commander.

Now, you can add: first woman to take command of a US Army infantry division.

On June 29, Yeager will assume command of the 40th Infantry Division at Los Alamitos, California’s Joint Forces Training Base.
