After facing backlash for a controversial cartoon, The New York Times has announced it will stop publishing all political cartoons in its international edition.

The paper made the announcement on Tuesday after facing backlash over a recent cartoon portraying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was accused of being anti-Semitic.

Editorial page editor James Bennet says the changes will go into effect on July 1st, and that the Opinion page will focus on “nuance, complexity and strong voice from a diversity of viewpoints”.
