James Alex Fields, Jr., the man convicted for purposely ramming his car into a crowd of counter-protesters during a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, was formally sentenced Monday to life plus another 419 years.

Fields killed one person and injured several others in the August 12, 2017 incident. He was convicted in December on 29 federal hate crime charges.
