NBC reports that neo-Nazi blogger Andrew Anglin, founder and editor of The Daily Stormer website, has been ordered to pay Tanya Gersh, a Jewish real estate agent, $14 million in damages for organizing and encouraging an “anti-Semitic troll storm” against her. The founder was also found guilty for the harassment that targeted Gersh’s husband and 12-year-old son.
Anglin’s website is considered the most extreme of all white nationalist sites. He is known for encouraging people to “party like it’s 1933” after the recent election and was also a featured speaker at the 2017 rally in Virginia that left one dead and 19 others injured.
Anglin encouraged readers to harass Gersh for her alleged “harassment” of Richard Spencer’s mother. Spencer is the nationalist who coined the term “alt-right.” A December 2016 article posted Gersh’s address and phone number, along with her son’s Twitter account info, asking readers to “send a quick message that you’re sickened by their Jewish agenda.” In addition to the $14 million, a judge ordered Anglin to take down his blog posts against Gersh.
Anglin didn’t show up for court. He’s rumored to be hiding underground. He already owes over $4 million to a Muslim radio host who filed a defamation lawsuit.
