4 Chicago Officers Fired Over Laquan McDonald Coverup

Four Chicago police officers have been fired over their attempts to cover up the 2014 Laquan McDonald shooting.

The officers, who were all on the scene at the time, were accused of “outright lying” or “shading the truth” in their statements afterward.

Jason Van Dyke, the officer who shot the 17-year-old McDonald, was sentenced earlier this year to six years and nine months behind bars on second degree murder charges.
