Thousands of protesters filled the streets of Hong Kong to demand democratic reforms this weekend and now some want an inquiry into police violence.

Three dozen people were injured Sunday when a group of pro-democracy activists and other bystanders were attacked following a night of street demonstrations.

Government officials condemned the violence in a statement, however, according to a newspaper report, local residents were furious at how long it took riot police to arrive.
