New figures from the Department of Defense have revealed that our military is getting bigger and not in people power but in weight.

The U.S. Navy alone has an obesity rate of 22% while the Air Force came in at 18.1%, the Army at 17.4%, and the Marines at 8.3%.

So what’s happening? Experts say this trend could be linked to civilian society, where 39.8% of all adult Americans are considered obese.
