It’s not a place any company wants to be, but Ford’s credit rating has been slid to the junk column by Moody’s Investors Service.

Moody’s placed the automaker’s debt rating to Ba1, which is the first stage of “junk” or non-investment speculative grade, from Baa3.

However, Ford’s outlook is stable, as the downgrade reflects “considerable operating and market challenges facing Ford, and the weak earnings and cash generation likely as the company pursues a lengthy and costly restructuring plan.”
