United Auto Workers members who are on strike against General Motors have been hit with something unexpected when it comes to their healthcare while not on the job.

GM confirmed yesterday the union workers are now on COBRA, which means the UAW strike fund will have to cover the costs until the strike ends.

Now, the UAW strike fund has a balance of around $1 billion, but some say the health coverage switch could drain that quickly.
