Bear Named ‘Holly’ Wins ‘Fat Bear Week’ Title

All hail Holly, the fattest bear in all the land.

This week, a grizzly named Holly was declared the winner of Alaska’s annual ‘Fat Bear Week’ contest.

The Katmai National Park & Preserve, who hosts the March Madness-style bracket, named Holly the “Queen of Corpulence” and said her “healthy heft” will help her survive hibernation season.

How did Holly achieve her award-winning girth? By feasting on sockeye salmon, which flood Alaska’s Brooks River.
