A horrible story coming out of North Carolina as a teacher has been accused of putting a disabled student in the trash.

51-year-old Robin Johnson was arrested last week on misdemeanor assault charges.

Authorities got wind of the incident after a therapist reported hearing about the alleged abuse from students. They say Johnson repeatedly put them into trash cans and garbage bins over the last few years.

Johnson has been suspended with pay. An investigation is pending.
