Longtime New York Congressman Peter King is retiring and will not run for another term in 2020.

King made his announcment on Monday, saying it was “not an easy decision” but wanted “flexibility to spend more time with our children and grandchildren”.

The 75-year-old Republican has served in the House for 28 years, most notably chairing the House Homeland Security Committee.
