San Jose Earthquakes Sign 14-Year-Old Goalkeeper

While most 14-year-olds are trying to get through high school, one Salinas teen has made a commitment through 2024. Goalkeeper Emmanuel Ochoa just signed a Major League Soccer contract with the San Jose Earthquakes.

At 14 years and 191 days, Ochoa is the second youngest player to ever sign a pro soccer contract. He’s also the youngest to sign a homegrown player contract. The San Francisco Chronicle says that Ochoa’s contract shows that San Jose is committed to growing talent young.
