Two Fort Hood Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

The Pentagon has ID’d two Fort Hood soldiers killed in a helicopter crash while in Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Chief Warrant Officers 2 David Knadle and Kirk Fuchigami, Jr. were working security for troops on the ground when their helicopter crashed in the Logar province.

While U.S. officials initially said the crash didn’t seem to be caused by enemy fire, the Taliban later claimed responsibility. 19 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan this year; that’s the highest amount of losses in 15 years.
