Google has canned four employees for what it said was “clear and repeated violations” of its policies around data security.”

Bloomberg is reporting that the Google employees under investigation had searched and distributed information outside the scope of their jobs.

While Google hasn’t released their names, The Washington Post reports that one of them was Rebecca Rivers, one of the two Googlers at the heart of a recent protest.
