Hundreds Of Yellowstone Bison To Be ‘Selectively Slaughtered’

Officials at Yellowstone National Park say up to 900 bison will be ‘selectively slaughtered’ this winter.

Wildlife experts say the culling is necessary to manage the local bison population. Most of the culled bison will be hunted or captured and shipped to a slaughterhouse. Others will be kept alive in corrals and 110 will be quarantined.

And estimated 4,900 bison roam the region, and the exact number to be culled depends on the winter migration.
