(CHICAGO) In the campaign for governor, Bill Daley is proposing a ban on campaign contributions when the General Assembly's in session.
Taking campaign contributions while the legislature is in session doesn’t always smell right. So Daley is promising not to do it even if lawmakers don’t take his suggestion to ban it.
As for his current fundraising, Daley says he’s raised about $800,000 in a few weeks including from his fellow gun-control backer, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Daley: He’s far out front on the need for reasonable, rationale gun control that goes after illegal guns in america.
Cameron: And how about that other fella who used to be a mayor, Rich Daley?
Daley: Ya know what, Bill, you’ll be shocked to know he even gave me some money!”
Daley says he got the $5300 maximum from his brother.
