Authorities have canceled an Amber Alert for an 18-month old girl who was located after being left inside a car that was stolen early Thursday in northwest suburban Bensenville.
The girl, Kimberly Delgado, has been safely located, police said.
Kimberly was briefly left inside a black 2003 Buick when her mother and a friend went inside an apartment building in the 900 block of West Irving Park Road about 12:40 a.m., Bensenville police said.
With the car parked and left running, the mother entered the building and passed a man who walked out and then got into the woman’s car, police said. The car has the Illinois license plate L548500, police said.
Bensenville police said they do not think the man knew the child was inside the car when he stole it.
Police were looking for a suspect described as a Hispanic male wearing a red sweater.
