A 72-year-old man who was about to board a bus to go to a medical appointment was shot to death outside his Roseland neighborhood home early Saturday during an apparent robbery attempt, police said.
William Strickland was about to board a PACE bus taking him to a kidney dialysis treatment about 3:30 a.m. Saturday when two males robbed him in the gangway outside his home in the 400 block of East 95th Street, authorities said.
It is unclear what happened next, but investigators say Strickland was shot multiple times and died from his injuries at 4 a.m. before he could be taken to a hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made. Area South detectives are investigating.
