(EAST CHICAGO) An 8-year-old boy died Saturday when he was struck by a train in the 4500 block of Magoun Street, the Lake County Coroner’s Office said.

 

Jaylin J.J. Harris was pronounced dead at 3:28 p.m., according to a news release from the coroner’s office. The boy, a pedestrian who lived about a block from the scene near Lewis Street, died of blunt force trauma, the coroner’s office said.
