(CHICAGO) Petitions calling for gun control were delivered to the governor's office Tuesday afternoon.
About a dozen preachers came to the governor’s door promising to deliver 50,000 signatures to Springfield Thursday, calling for common sense gun control.
Among them was First United Methodist Church pastor the Reverend Phil Blackwell.
“When we talk about common sense, the information is very clear: The more guns, the more killings,” Blackwell said.
Gun rights groups disagree. They say bad guys would ignore gun control whether you call it common sense or not. And so far, they are winning in Springfield.
