A man was shot in the leg late Wednesday night near the city’s 911 call center on the Near West Side.

 

The shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Madison Street, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

 

The 24-year-old man was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

 

The shooting occurred near the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication at 1451 W. Madison St.

 

Area Central detectives are investigating.
