Mayor Emanuel’s first chief of staff is quitting.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s chief of staff Theresa Mintle is worn out, no surprise there.  Replacing her, the middle of next month, will be a former city budget PR person, now city chief operating officer Lisa Shrader.

Mayor Emanuel wasn’t talking about it today, more focused on the effect of possible automatic federal budget cuts Friday, “Airports and everybody else has been doing their proper steps in precaution.  Look, it is Washington.  I know the cuts are gonna come through so we’re gonna do what we gotta do to protect Chicago.  I think it’s a mistake for the Republicans to not work with the president.”

But the Republicans say the president is not working with them.
