Story by 89 WLS reporter Bill Cameron
Mayor Emanuel was, of course, on hand at the swearing-in, and is also hosting a popular inaugural party tonight.
He also used this trip to talk up his duck hunting argument for gun control. Over the weekend he told the U.S. Conference of Mayors there surely ought to be a 10 bullet limit on magazine clips because there's federal law that limits duck hunters to only three cartridges in their shotguns.
Mayor Emanuel said, "We cannot be in a position that we have laws that protect our ducks better than we protect the residents of our cities."
Meantime, on his way to his seat at the inauguration, President Obama shook hands with Chicago Congressman Bobby Rush, the only politician ever to defeat Obama. He lost to Rush in a congressional primary but went on to be elected Senator and President.
