(CHICAGO) Mayor Emanuel has submitted one piece of the Wrigley Field renovation plan to the city council and it deals with the number of night games to be played there.
The mayor’s night game proposal raises the ceiling from 30 to 40 games with the Cubs holding back five of them in case Major League Baseball wants move Cubs games to prime time. Cubs fan and Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel also says there could be even more night games if the cubs are doing well and major league baseball wants more games – perhaps post season games – at night.
“If the Cubs are starting to win, everybody will be cheering in the city and that will be a good thing for the city. I see that as a way to move forward.”
